This track opens the album with a statement toward the morphing nature of emotions. The slashes in the title are meant to depict an up and down arrow, showing how our moods are in constant flux and can rapidly shift between extremes. I wrote this piece after a significant life change, and I felt absolutely terrible. The next day, practically all my problems reversed and I could not have felt happier. This song represents the feeling of changing feelings, and sets the tone for the rest of the EP.
